4th post

Ivo, I have an idea with the text behind the shadows...
Of course,I have no idea how it could be implemented yet.(the following example is with Java)
But what is virtual? If we create a depth of horizon, dynamic text (in 3d space probably), and the motion of the viewer is synchronized somehow with the motion and the perspective of the letters (zoom in/out), then we create a second room, a virtual space within the actual space. The navigation of your body interrelates with the navigation in the text-space...When you approach the "screen" the text is bigger and collapse and is not readable, as you move back the text unfolds and is smaller, more readable.
This sounds to me that, apart from the text, it might need some more calculations of the amount of the shadow (remind u: the bigger the distance, the bigger the shadows they are.)
Remember the way you perceive a huge painting you have to create distance in order to see the "whole", I found it a good metaphor.

Check this simple example, and imagine instead of moving the mouse moving your body...

the example has more interaction according to the vertical axis, we can play more with the horizontal since the people passing by (apple dock example + the above = ?)
I don't know yet...thoughts thoughts...
Come on , I need a dialogue here...

Searching for Ars Electronica Festival (tickets, program etc) , I found more "shadows".
It is a video installation from Hiraki Sawa named Trail. To be honest it was not really clear to me how it works, but it gives me the impression that the artist expands the video in to the actual space.I think it might also have a reference to those "freezed" or "printed" shadows in Hirosima...

Generally, I like the kind of aesthetics and atmosphere, the artist creates.

2nd post

hello. I just booked the ticket for a flight from zürich to athens on the 18th of august. Arrival at 16:30. I will leave greece on saturday the 1st of september, early in the morning. thats the plan.
Since we agreed that we're going to work a little in this burning hell called Greece, where some devils come from, I do like to structuralize the time, respectively ask the question, what have we have done till then?
My idea was that we continue work more or less independently, of course in a regular exchange, and when we meet, gather all our work and put them together in any form. We should keep in mind that the submission for the Bremen Award for Video Award overlaps only in some parts with what Frieder demands. If we agree to finish that as well, we shouldnt forget to prepare the stuff they need, like cv and so on.

By the way i wanted to mention again Rafael Lozano-Hemmer, the artist the guys from digital shadows mentioned, and a link to some videos on youtube click here.
I dont know wheter it is crucial for our project, but i like him. have a look.

Dear Efi, this is a, hopefully fruitful, attempt to establish an additional way of exchanging thoughts for our project. It is nice, I feel like preparing a field or a garden, but it is up to us what kind of seeds we sow and what we are going to reap..
